JCGE It is hoped along with these abuse reporting changes, there will be quality training, with supervision and supports. The student training needs to to ensure students fully practice their rights from mental and emotional abuse by adults and peers. As we all know there are EBR Schools staff who practice the routine mental abuse of children, staff, and other stakeholders. From paraprofessionals to ICARE workers mental and emotional abuse has become a popular tool they use against children, staff, and stakeholders. The mandate to report, "suspected abuse," does not give the staff the luxury to weigh their opinion on the matter, they just have to report it. This will be a large shift for staff where loyalty to adults is often valued over the well being of children. Beating children for marks on behavior chart, merits reporting. A school administrator screaming at a classroom teacher, merits reporting. These will be huge shifts in a culture where abuse is comfortable. Thanks
