Considering the options, I urge you to select an amended version of option A that has a true opportunity for public engagement. A meet and greet with refreshments, and a free for all for people to ask candidates questions at a table. does not feel like a thought through process. A suggestion would be to have each candidate available for questions from the public in a structured manner. Each candidate would have their own time with a time limited responses to questions posed by members of the community. Candidates should appear individually as to be able to answer by themselves without hearing the answers of others. Many other districts have this type of public engagement for their important process of Superintendent selection. A simple reception with refreshments feels performative and hard to manage.
