Agency/Org:
Greetings.EBR staff went to several sites to tell them to accept the decision because it, “was already decided,” and staff had been reassigned. No quality data was presented.
It’s perfectly OK for leaders to not respond to every voice, it’s not OK to present misinformation intended to suppress engagement. One of the best things about our district is the diverse community that continuously choose EBR Schools.
It may be a hard truth here, but EBR Schools IS the first choice for many families. They don’t want to send their kids to Episcopal or Uhigh or Southern Lab. EBR Schools is a NOT a lesser choice. And over 60% chose traditional neighborhood schools.
When we treat stakeholders poorly, or as an afterthought, we need to give pause and ask our leaders to do better.
Bottom line: if there isn’t quality data to actually support this
displacement then it shouldn’t be done. A student centered policy should be based on strong data and logic, not based on feelings and hunches.
