Good evening, I appreciate the district’s efforts to improve transportation and explore later start times, but I have serious concerns about the data being used to support these decisions. The outcomes presented, such as student achievement and operational efficiency, are too broad and not clearly defined with measurable benchmarks, making it difficult for the public to evaluate success . The data also relies heavily on trends without separating the impact of start times from other changes like rezoning or school restructuring, which limits the accuracy of conclusions. Additionally, the proposal indicates that some data is manually collected by school staff , which raises concerns about consistency and reliability. While financial savings are highlighted, there is not enough focus on student outcomes and equity impacts. Most importantly, students with disabilities are completely missing from this report. Transportation is a required service for many of these students, and without data on their experiences, including access, service delivery, and stability, the district is not fully measuring the impact of these decisions. I also urge the Board to increase transparency by providing a public Tableau dashboard so families and staff can see accurate, real-time data trends; the district already owns this data . Finally, if there are limitations in the data, they must be clearly stated to avoid misinterpretation. At this stage, the data should guide discussion, not justify major decisions. Thank you.
